John
Carhart III (Assistant Editor) began his career as an actor on stage and in
film before segueing into his current work as a feature film & documentary
editor as well as a busy stage director.
John's first film role was a role in director John Water's hit film "Hairspray." He followed that with the lead character of Nick in the seminal horror/comedy "There's Nothing Out There," which inspired an entire genre of films, including "Scary Movie" and all of the subsequent "Scream" films. He also guest starred in a recurring role on the popular daytime drama "The Guiding Light" during the the 90's.
John has also worked as a stage director and continues to do so as he works as a film editor. He is the assistant director of the stage production "Joe Fearless," which will soon move to Broadway following it's hot word-of-mouth run off-Broadway.
John is a graduate of editor Alan ("Happiness," "Storytelling," "Unzipped") Oxman's prestigious edit facility, "The Edit Center," and is now combining his past experience on and off stage, film and television to be a vital part of the creative team of "Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There."
